Shrewsbury Indoor Bowls Club Reopening
Dear Members
Firstly let me apologise in advance if this email is sent to someone who it should not have reached. The circulation list is pre COVID and we have been unable to amend it.
The Chairman and Committee are delighted to say that the Shrewsbury Indoor Bowls Club will be reopening its doors on Tuesday, 19th October.
It is going to take a little while before we will be fully functional once again but in the meantime we will be holding Chummies sessions every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons between 2pm – 4pm.
As always, there are a few details to point out:
| 1) | There will be no membership fees payable for the 2021/22 season. This applies to pre closure members only. |
| 2) | We will attempt to run a shortened League season to be started in the New Year. |
| 3) | However, there will be Chummies, Club competitions, ie the Ladies v Gents competition as well as the Air Ambulance Fundraising Day and the Christmas getogether. (Dates to be confirmed.) |
| 4) | A new bowling carpet is currently being fitted so we ask everyone to check that their bowling shoes have smooth soles. Also, a reminder to everyone that bowling shoes should not be worn outside the Bowls hall as grit, etc can very easily damage the carpet. |
| 5) | Payment for bowling is to be made at the Sports Village main Reception. The Sports Village have confirmed that £4.30 will be payable for the two hour sessions and they prefer payment to be made by bank card. |
| 6) | Please have available your BeActive card and your Bowls Club white membership card. (The Sports Village will reactivate your BeActive card without a charge as the Club pay that cost.) |
| 7) | As some vulnerable people will be returning to bowls please have consideration and wear a mask in non-bowling areas. |
| 8) | To check the records we hold, ie address, email address, etc we will be asking you to complete a renewal membership form. |
| 9) | An Extraordinary General Meeting will be held in due course. Please give some thought to becoming a Committee member as three members have decided to retire, Sheila and Rod Payne and Mike Caird. |
Finally, we look forward to seeing you all again and to getting “back to normal”
